Xanthe's Braces

On a recent visit to see Poonam, our brilliant brilliant dentist, I asked her resident orthodontist, Tapasya for a quick assessment of Xanthe's "paining tooth".  Not having to make a separate appointment to see an orthodontist (like 10 weeks in advance) is fabulous, so things move amazingly quickly here (Tapasya's quick check was also free!).

As you can see, one of her teeth is pushed right back and threatening to smash an adult one below, it's causing her pain so we really needed to sort it out.  It seemed rather obvious what the solution was, but I wasn't too sure if it wasn't way too early!

So Xanthe had a subsequent full appointment with Tapasya, impressions taken, a quick polish and two weeks later, Xanthe joined a rather uber trendy "club" by having braces fitted!   Top 5 teeth only!

a bit wallace n gromit?

I know it's rather early for Xanthe to have braces, especially as she hasn't lost all her baby teeth yet, but given it's about 1/4 of the price back home, why wouldn't you do it if it means potentially saving one of her adult teeth from trauma?

Xanthe's no stranger to "mouth bling" so a teensy bit of discomfort when they attached the elastics and no pain at all.
AND WOW … only 10 days later we can all see the immediate effect they've had! And what's even better is that she's only got to have these braces for another 3 months or so!
